Code of Conduct
We are all volunteers and homeschooling parents. We are blessed to be allowed to use a variety of facilities, and need to act accordingly. Please review the following group policies and code of conduct. ALL members MUST agree to these terms. Thank you!
COVID Guidelines
Due to the nature of Covid-19 and related variants, we ask that if any member of your household exhibits symptoms that may be related to Covid or other contagious illness that you remain home. We ask that if anyone in your household has a fever that your entire family stay home until the fever has been gone for 24 hours. We also ask that you respect those who attend events and choose to wear a mask and/or remain 6ft of personal space, do not wish to be embraced, shake hands, etc. Thank you!
Group Policies:
EVENTS: Members are asked to volunteer to set up fairs, field trips, or co-ops. Remember, we’re all volunteers and your participation is needed for the success of the group! As with all of our events and meetings, parents are responsible for their own children at all times and are to remain in attendance unless previous arrangements are made.
RSVP: Regardless of whether you plan to attend an event, tour or co-op, please sign up on the website by the deadline listed. If you sign up to attend and then are unable to attend an event for any reason, please call/email to cancel.
FPEA: All members are required to join the FPEA. Membership makes you eligible for discounts on the Convention in May, discounts on Standardized Testing and discounts at many local bookstores, office supply and craft stores with your membership card.
Before leaving an event or co-op class:
Each parent is responsible to make sure that their children have cleaned up after themselves. We are unable to maintain a lost and found box. Please make sure you have all your belongings before leaving an event. Any items left behind will be thrown out. Students will not be dismissed until all supplies, tables, chairs and rooms are completely cleaned and put back in proper order.
Behavior Agreement and Waiver Release
Respect of peers, Respect of authority, Respect of property, Respect of location/event rules.
ALL CHILDREN ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THEIR PARENTS. IT IS NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE EVENT/CO-OP COORDINATOR TO SUPERVISE UNATTENDED CHILDREN. THEREFORE, CHILDREN CANNOT BE DROPPED OFF AT AN EVENT, FIELD TRIP, CO-OP, ETC. WITHOUT PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS WITH ANOTHER ATTENDING PARENT.
Occasionally other groups will advertise field trips, etc. through our group that are open to ALL homeschoolers. These are NOT FSH events and you attend at your own discretion.
If standards of behavior are not being followed, we will give a warning. If standards of behavior continue to be ignored, we will have to ask the parent and the child to leave the event. If the behavior continues to be an issue at future events, you will be asked to withdraw your membership from FSH. We enforce these rules to maintain order, safety and security for the children and to prevent damage to any facility we may be occupying. If an incident occurs that leadership is not aware of it needs to be brought to their attention immediately. Our expectations are that this will allow everyone to fully enjoy all events and to aid in preventing any injury or negative situations from occurring.
Florida’s Sunshine Homeschoolers is a group of volunteer members and their families. Everything we do is led by volunteers within the group who have volunteered to guide activities and lead group discussions. In an effort to hold harmless those volunteer members in leadership and those volunteer members who come forward to organize events, field trips, co-ops, parties, etc., we ask that ALL MEMBERS acknowledge that they are responsible for themselves, their children and their guests AT ALL TIMES. Any damage or liability to persons or property are the sole responsibility of the person (or in the case of minors, parents/legal guardians of minor child) responsible for said damage or liability.
